How to use the Spin the Wheel
- Type or paste your options in the box, one per line. The wheel updates instantly.
- Click Spin!, click the wheel itself, or press Ctrl+Enter.
- When it stops, the winner pops up. Choose Remove from wheel to take them out for the next spin.
- Use Full screen to show it on a projector, and Copy share link to send the same wheel to someone else.
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator (the same one used for passwords) before the wheel starts moving. The spin animation is then steered to land on that result, so every entry has exactly the same chance, no matter how fast or where you click.
Ideas for using the wheel
- Classrooms: pick a student to answer, choose a topic, or decide the order of presentations.
- Giveaways: paste the names of everyone who entered and spin live on stream or in a video call.
- Everyday decisions: what to eat, which movie to watch, who does the dishes.
- Games: truth or dare, party challenges, or random prizes.
Giving an option a bigger chance
Every line is one slice of equal size. To make an option more likely, add it more than once. An entry listed twice is twice as likely to win.
Frequently asked questions
How many entries can the wheel hold?
As many as you like. Names are shown on the wheel for up to 120 entries; beyond that the slices get too thin to label, but spinning still works and the winner is shown.
Can I remove the winner after each spin?
Yes. Click Remove from wheel in the winner pop-up and spin again.
Is my list saved?
Your list is saved in your browser only, so it's still there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded.
How do I share my wheel?
Click Copy share link. The link contains your list, so anyone who opens it sees the same wheel.
Can I turn off the clicking sound?
Yes, use the Sound button above the wheel.
Can I pick several winners at once?
Switch to Pick names to draw any number of winners in one go, with no repeats.
