How to use the Signature Resizer
- Sign on plain white paper with a black or dark blue pen, and take a clear photo in good light.
- Drop the photo in. The signature is found and cropped automatically, and the paper turns white.
- If faint strokes disappear, move Ink darkness to the right. If grey shadows appear, move it left.
- Choose a size, or type the width and height in pixels, cm, mm or inches.
- Enter the File size range from the form, such as 10 to 20 KB, then click Download signature.
Getting the size right
Application forms usually give two rules: dimensions (in pixels or cm) and a file size range in KB. Type the dimensions into Width and Height. If they're in cm, mm or inches, the DPI field sets how many pixels each centimetre gets. 200 DPI is a common choice. The signature is fitted inside the box without stretching, with white space around it.
Then enter the KB range. The resizer saves the highest JPG quality that stays under the maximum. If the result is still under the minimum, the picture simply doesn't hold enough detail at that size. Make the dimensions or DPI a little larger.
Tips for a clean signature
- Use a pen with a medium or bold tip. Very thin lines can break up when the image is made small.
- Sign a little larger than usual, inside a box roughly the shape the form asks for.
- Take the photo straight from above in daylight, without your phone's shadow on the paper.
- Rotate the photo with Rotate 90° if it's sideways.
Private by design
Your signature is personal. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so the photo is never uploaded or stored anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize my signature to 20 KB?
Type 20 in the maximum file size box. For a range such as 10–20 KB, type 10 as the minimum too. The signature is saved as a JPG at the best quality that fits.
How do I set the size in cm?
Choose cm as the unit and type the width and height, for example 3.5 × 1.5. The DPI field decides how many pixels that becomes.
Why is my file smaller than the minimum?
A signature is mostly white, which compresses very well. At small dimensions there may not be enough detail to reach the minimum. Make the size or DPI a little larger, or tick pad it with blank data, which adds hidden filler to the file without changing the picture.
Can I keep blue ink?
Yes. Choose Blue or As photographed under Ink color.
Is my signature uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and nothing is sent or saved.
