Which case should I use?
| Sentence case | Only the first word of each sentence is capitalized. Best for most body text, buttons and UI labels. |
|---|---|
| Title Case | Main words are capitalized, while short words like a, and, of, the, to stay lowercase unless they come first or last. Used for headlines and book titles. |
| Capitalized Case | Every Word Starts With A Capital. Simpler than title case; common for names and labels. |
| UPPER CASE | All capitals. Good for short labels and acronyms, hard to read in long text. |
| camelCase, PascalCase | userName, UserName: variables and classes in JavaScript, Java, C#. |
| snake_case, CONSTANT_CASE | user_name, MAX_SIZE: Python, Ruby, databases and constants. |
| kebab-case, url-slug | user-name: CSS classes, file names and web addresses. |
Smart title case
Title Case here follows the common AP and Chicago style rules: articles, short conjunctions and short prepositions stay lowercase in the middle of a title, and words with unusual capitals like iPhone, McDonald's or NASA are left as you typed them.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?
Paste it in and click <b>Sentence case</b>. Each sentence then starts with a capital letter and the rest is lowercase.
Does it work with accents and other languages?
Yes. Letters with accents, Greek, Cyrillic and other alphabets with upper and lower case are converted correctly. Thai, Chinese and Japanese have no case, so they stay the same.
Can I convert many variable names at once?
Yes. Put one name per line and click a programming case. Each line is converted separately.
Is my text stored?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and nothing is sent or saved.
