How to use the WebP to PNG Converter
- Drop your WebP images into the box or click choose files.
- PNG is already selected, so they're converted straight away.
- Click Download for each image, or Download all for a zip.
Why convert WebP to PNG?
WebP is a modern format that websites use because it makes small files. But plenty of software still can't open it, or can't edit it: older versions of Photoshop, Microsoft Office, some print shops and upload forms. PNG opens everywhere and is lossless, so it's the safe choice for editing, logos, screenshots and anything with a transparent background.
WebP to PNG or WebP to JPG?
- PNG keeps transparency and every pixel exactly. Best for logos, icons, stickers, screenshots and graphics. Files are larger, especially for photos.
- JPG makes much smaller files for photos but has no transparency. Use WebP to JPG for photos you want to share or print.
Will the quality change?
No further quality is lost: PNG stores the decoded image exactly. If the WebP itself was saved with lossy compression, the PNG looks the same as the WebP, just in a bigger file. Animated WebP files are converted using their first frame; to keep the animation, use WebP to GIF.
Frequently asked questions
Does WebP to PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparent areas stay transparent in the PNG.
Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP?
PNG is lossless and less efficient for photos, so the same picture takes more space. That's normal.
Can I convert many WebP files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like and download them all as a zip.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
