Names in a hat, minus the hat.

Random Name Picker

Paste a list of names, choose how many to pick, and draw fair random winners in one click. Perfect for classrooms, raffles, giveaways and meetings. Picked names can be removed automatically so nobody is chosen twice.

Your list is saved in this browser. The share link puts it in the address so others open the same wheel.

How to use the Random Name Picker

  1. Paste your names into the box, one per line. Lists copied from a spreadsheet column work too.
  2. Set How many to the number of winners you need.
  3. Click Pick or press Ctrl+Enter. The winners appear after a short shuffle.
  4. Tick Remove picked names from the list to keep drawing without repeats until everyone has had a turn.

Fair, random and private

Names are drawn using your browser's cryptographic random number generator, with an unbiased shuffle, so every name has an equal chance. When you pick several at once, nobody can be picked twice in the same draw. The list never leaves your device.

Great for

  • Teachers: cold-call students fairly, or pick helpers and presentation order.
  • Raffles and giveaways: paste the entries and draw winners, then copy the results.
  • Teams and meetings: choose who speaks first or who takes the notes this week.

Prefer something more dramatic?

Switch to Spin the wheel at the top to pick the same names with a spinning wheel, or Make teams to split the whole list into random groups.
