Which format should I use?
- JPG works everywhere and keeps photos small. It doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background color you choose.
- PNG is lossless and supports transparency. Use it for screenshots, logos, icons and images with text. Photos saved as PNG are much larger.
- WebP gives the smallest files for the same quality and supports transparency. It's ideal for websites, and all modern browsers can open it.
Formats you can convert from
The converter reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, AVIF, SVG and ICO files. SVG drawings are turned into sharp pixel images at 1×, 2× or 4× size. iPhone HEIC photos open only in Safari. On other browsers, share the photo as JPG from your phone first.
