How to use the Days Between Dates Calculator
- Enter the start date. Click (today) to use today.
- Enter the end date.
- Tick Include the end date if both the first and last day should count.
- Read the number of days, and the span in weeks, months and business days.
Should the end date be included?
By default the count is the difference between the dates, so Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days. That's right for ages, deadlines and "how many days until". When both days count, like the length of a holiday from the 1st to the 5th, tick Include the end date to get 5.
Examples
- 1 January to 31 December 2027: 364 days, or 365 with the end date included.
- 1 March to 1 June: 92 days in any year, because March, April and May have 31 + 30 + 31 days.
- 1 February to 1 March: 28 days, or 29 in a leap year.
Leap years
A leap year has 366 days, with 29 February. Years divisible by 4 are leap years, except years divisible by 100 that aren't divisible by 400. So 2028 is a leap year, 2100 isn't, and 2000 was. The calculator counts every 29 February in the range for you.
