How to use the Business Days Calculator
- Enter the start and end dates. Both are counted unless you untick Include the end date.
- Check the Working days. Monday to Friday is selected; click a day to change it.
- Add any public holidays in the range so they're skipped.
- Read the number of business days, weekend days and holidays.
What counts as a business day?
A business day is a normal working day, usually Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays. Banks, couriers, courts and government offices often state deadlines in business days, so "5 business days" from a Friday ends on the next Friday, not the Wednesday.
How many business days are in a year?
A year has 260 to 262 weekdays, depending on which day it starts and whether it's a leap year: 261 in 2026 and 2027, and 260 in 2028. Subtract your country's public holidays, usually 8 to 15 days, to get the working days. A month has 20 to 23 weekdays.
Adding business days to a date
To find the date 10 business days from now, switch to Add or subtract and tick Count business days only. The start day isn't counted: counting begins on the next working day. Your working days and holidays apply there too.
Different working weeks
Not everyone works Monday to Friday. In some countries the weekend is Friday and Saturday, and many shops and some schools work six days a week. Click the days under Working days to match your week.

No, because they differ by country and even by region. Add them with Add holiday and they're skipped.

Between 20 and 23, before public holidays. November 2026 has 21 weekdays and December 2026 has 23.
How many business days is two weeks?
10, when you work Monday to Friday and there are no holidays in between.
