How to use the JPG to Text Converter
- Drop a JPG (or several) into the box, or click choose files.
- Pick the language of the text if it isn't English.
- Wait a moment while the text is recognized.
- Fix any mistakes, then copy the text or download it as a .txt file.
Getting clean text from a JPG
JPG is how phones save photos, so it's the most common format people need text from: a photo of a page, a receipt, a sign or a whiteboard. JPG compression blurs fine detail a little, so the sharper the original photo, the better the result.
- Shoot straight on, with the page filling the frame.
- Use good, even light and avoid shadows from your phone.
- Crop away the background before you drop it in.
Also works with PNG, WebP, HEIC and scanned PDFs. See Photo to Text for more tips on phone pictures.
